Dearest Minions,

With the holidays drawing near, I simply have to tell you about a product I recently discovered, created by Ellis Faas… LIGHTS! If you’re still scrambling to find your holiday party makeup, look no further. Keep reading for my Lights review:

Ellis Faas Lights are liquid products that dry just after application is complete. Lights give the illusion of foiled metallic color and will never crease or move, but stay perfectly wet in appearance.  Ellis Lights are currently available in five shades including Warm Silver (E301), Green-Gold (E302), Bronze (E303), Lilac (E304) and Holographic Bordeaux (E305)!

Packaging
In chic silver, Lights packaging is an amped up take on the classic Faas boxes we’ve grown accustomed to. Keeping with the over all feel of Ellis’ products the same bullet casing and bristle brush applicators can be found throughout the Lights collection.

Color Range and Payoff

One of the most brilliant things about the Lights collection is the color payoff. No two shades are alike, but all shine with incredible intensity and rich color. Most of the liquid shadows I’ve had flings with end up becoming a base for dry shadows that lack pop, but Ellis’ Lights are stand alone products that can and should be rocked solo. The Lights range currently offers five colors, while I’m dying to try E302 and E304 the colors available are pretty solid. I’m waiting for Ellis to bring us Black Lights (isn’t that kind of cute?) a metallic Black is desired, please do indulge me!!

E305 – E305 is without a doubt the most interesting of the lot. Holographic Bordeaux is a deep chocolatey plum with a beautiful blue green frost overlay, did I say interesting?…. I meant complex!!
E303
– E303 is a flawless rich bronze color packed with extra fine gold shimmer throughout.
E301
- E301 is a true silver color loaded with fine silver shimmer. Reminiscent of mercury, Warm Silver glides on effortlessly.

Price

Lights can be purchased for US $42.00 each plus shipping. Its not cheap to be the center of attention, but when you’re there its worth every last penny isn’t it? haha. I’m a frugalista to the core, but I do delight in the fabulously high end from time to time.. With that said I consider Ellis’ Lights pricey, even for a one of a kind product that does everything it claims and more. I hate to knock the price of shine, because it really is so worth having and certainly could never be a regrettable purchase even if it tried. Lights is a truly remarkable product and if you have a bit of wiggle room in your beauty budget, I say GO FOR IT…  have seconds and thirds haha.

Other Thoughts
All three colors apply evenly and have wonderful creamy textures. With great shimmer comes great fallout (Isn’t that that how the quote goes?) Super fine shimmer can be found throughout the Lights shadow pens, but I had absolutely ZERO problems with dusting!! Other noteworthy attributes: ease of wear, longevity, easily washes away, no flaking, keeps its wet appearance, ease of use and applies in one smooth, thin coat! While I can’t see myself wearing my Lights everyday, I will reserve them for night out looks and especially for holidays like Christmas and New Years! So far I’m loving my Ellis Lights, they’re truly unique products that go far past their promises!…  outstanding pigmentation, flawless application and rare color assortment. You will NOT find this product anywhere else.
